Ah, you found me.
|
Thanks for visiting my site. I’m an author, editor, and and aspiring public speaker (that last one doesn’t always come off that well, unfortunately). I worked for Christianity Today for several years and am now the director of editorial for Urban Ministries, Inc. I’ve officially written two books so far, which you can find here, and a slew of articles, some of which I’ve linked to here. I’m new to the world of blogging, so forgive me if I don’t post often enough. But please keep checking back to keep me accountable. Now, make yourself at home … take a look around. And if you have any questions or comments, please drop me a note right here.

My latest book is Reconciliation Blues:
A Black Evangelical’s Inside View of White Christianity. Publishers Weekly calls it “a poignant and often humorous look at the state of racial reconciliation within evangelical Christianity.” I’m hoping readers will find the book to be a fresh and insightful exploration of the current state of race relations in the church.
As a black evangelical who has gone to school, worked, and worshiped in predominantly white evangelical settings for much of my life, I wanted to share my journey of faith and discovery. In addition to my own story, I interviewed dozens of other black evangelicals who have had similar experiences. Being the “first” or “only” black can be a wild and sometimes lonely adventure.
My prayer is that this book will facilitate healing and build bridges of understanding in the church. So check it out. And if you’ve read it already, I’d love to receive your feedback.
